Speaking of this movie, it has been on the list of want to watch for 160 days. When the news feed already has resources, I watched it immediately at night.
The whole movie looks a bit depressing, not because of the label of suspense and horror, but the atmosphere of the whole movie. After watching it, I learned that the environment of this film was Spain in the 1980s. To deeply understand the ideas expressed in this film, we must first understand the background of the times, so I added the history of Spain at that time.
This movie can be regarded as a double male protagonist. Among them, Juan is more mysterious and worth exploring his past. His ability to investigate and handle cases was first-rate, but he suffered from a certain disease and seemed to see through the world. In the end, the case was solved. His partner was published in the newspaper (although I think it was mainly up to him to solve the case), and he did not feel wronged. Instead, he was very happy, as if he had received some kind of redemption. It was embarrassing to find out the whole story after making up for it later.
In the movie, I am particularly impressed by the "God's perspective" in several places. From the beginning, middle to the end, plus the soundtrack, the whole movie gives me a gloomy feeling. Some people say that this is a bit like the Spanish version of "Memories of Murder". ", by comparison, it is certain that it is somewhat similar. The historical environment + serial girl murders, the ending also gives people a feeling of powerless depression.
