Detective Poirot is entrusted by Sir to investigate the missing diamond. Sir once gave Alena the diamond, but what Alena returned was fake. Sir believed that Alena had deceived him and asked Poirot to investigate the matter and retrieve the diamond.
Alena goes wild and has an affair with the handsome young Patrick at the Island Hotel. This is not only known to Alena's husband, but also to Patrick's wife. The guests looked at it, but didn't say it.
One day at noon, Alena went out in a small boat, apparently making an appointment with someone else. But by the time Patrick and another woman arrived, Alena was already dead. Poirot begins to investigate the murder.
It seems that except Patrick and his wife who have alibi, everyone else has time to kill Alena. In-depth investigation found that Patrick and his wife played double reeds. Patrick deliberately showed his indifference to his wife, throwing himself into Alena's arms, and his wife was also jealous. In fact, it is not the case, and the two carry out careful planning. First, Patrick's wife went to the beach and knocked Alena unconscious. Then Patrick accompanied another lady to Alena's side to create alibi, and at this time, Alena was strangled to death. The real purpose of the two is to deceive the gem.
In the end, Poirot took advantage of the unexpected and wisely brought the two to justice, and the diamond was returned to its original owner.
