To some extent, the thin foster mother can be regarded as the initiator of the whole tragedy! Without her irresponsible conversation, the bald police detective would not have fallen into suspicion. Although the rapist is hateful, the thin foster mother is also a real bitch! At the end of the play, I really hope that Mary will sue the thin foster mother too!
Especially when she borrowed $500, Mary suffered all the cynicism, and was pushed to the dust by her thin foster mother. Perhaps it was the best choice to leave that sad place in the end.
