Falling in love is not a bad girl

Naissance des pieuvres, the original meaning is the birth of the octopus. (I vaguely remember) Mr. Xi mentioned in the interview that the eight tentacles of the octopus have symbolic meanings of desire and jealousy, which probably also corresponds to the awakening, haziness and self-pulling of adolescence. The Taiwan version is translated as "Fall in Love with a Bad Girl", and the plot is summarized as Marie falling in love with Floriane.

Floriane is not a bad girl, in a way admirable and distressed. She is beautiful and is the object of stares everywhere. The male gaze brought her only misfortune, pain and confusion. Harassment by the coach, sarcasm and isolation from teammates, betrayal by her boyfriend, but she still smiled and said "this is life".

Initially, Marie also stared at Floriane from the outside. Out of curiosity and desire, she stayed by her side and understood it in her own unique way (the part of secretly picking up Floriane's rubbish home was really suffocating, Mr. Xi is really a pervert). The elusive kisses in the nightclub, the wet smiles under the shower head looked at each other, lying side by side on the bed holding hands, clumsy but moving. Cowardly and alone, Floriane can only laugh and sob in the presence of Marie; she wants to resist, but she doesn't know how to break free from her accustomed object role and what she wants. After Marie knocked on the car window and yelled "dirty old man", Floriane got out of the car and ran with her on the green belt, laughing and hugging her.

"Thank you. He doesn't kiss at all."

The two 15-year-old girls are more youthful, brave and more fortunate. They dare to pursue their own aspirations, dare to make mistakes, and dare to spit on men who only think with their lower bodies. They also eventually returned to each other, floating face to face in the pool.

Needless to say, Mr. Xi's partiality towards women. She uses every lens to show their companionship, support, understanding, conflict and love. I was thinking, what is the core of this movie? The clues to growth are quite subtle, everything goes softly, there is no clear dramatic conflict, and the delicate daily life is like a slow wave of water. Maybe it can't be defined as a lesbian movie. Debating whether Floriane loves Marie will only make the theme vulgar and superficial.

The daffodils bloom, the self-obsessed and immature love of teenagers, but miraculously have something profound and moving because of their interaction.

------------The following is a personal convulsion-------------

1. The moment I was surprised by the scene of buying a McDonald's, I really laughed like crazy——

Teacher Xi is so cute. I will always love this woman.

2. Seventeen or eighteen-year-old Adèle really blows my mind.

audition
On set photo. I must have seen Mrs. Xi smiling so happily.

3. Save a wave of precious set photos

what are you doing? ! what are you doing? ! Ok? !

Water Lilies quotes

  • Marie: Who cares about being normal?

  • Marie: The ceiling is probably the last thing most people see. For at least 90% of people that die. For sure. And when you die, the last thing you see is printed in your eye. Like a photo. Imagine the number of people with ceilings in their eyes.

Floriane: Ceilings will never seem the same.
