The main style of the whole play is dark, depressing, and chilling, entwined with a terrifying and weird gothic style. But it goes well with the low social status of the governess. Rather than the humbleness of this position, it is better to say that Jane Eyre's life situation from childhood has painted her life with indelible black.
She needed light and love to dispel the darkness in her life, and Rochester was the light in her life. He understands Jane, they are in love with each other, they are twins in mind, their love has nothing to do with appearance, but only share the inner spirit, just as romantic as Platonic love.
Obviously I already know how the plot will develop next, but the film makes me cry over and over again. Jane's love is humble, hidden and jealous but stubborn, persistent and passionate. Her love is touching.
"Do you think I will stay here insignificant? Do you think I am an emotionless robot? Do you think that I am poor, humble, unbeautiful, and small, so I have no soul and no heart? You are wrong , I have as many souls and as full a heart as you. If God gave me a little beauty and wealth, I would make it as difficult for you to leave me as it is for me to leave you now. I am not by the rules of social life and customs. Talk to you, but my heart speaks to your heart."
She is calm on the surface, but that doesn't mean she doesn't love passionately.
