Although it is far from the life of these "little gangsters", I unexpectedly felt that the film resonated with me very much. In this society, people see mostly the pain related to themselves, and thus attribute all other pain as sinful retribution. Li Zi showed me how a delinquent boy went astray, how he struggled with entanglement and pain, and how he changed his face. This is not an inspirational story. The violence and sex, crime and drugs in it should not appear in the character of the inspirational protagonist. This is a story about growth, about making mistakes and corrections, and staggering forward.
