Song Hui

, a woman with hard lines and sharp eyes, stares at you, her way of expressing is so simple, she puts you in her frame, and you become her shot. You know you don't want that, but you can't open the car door and go out, she's already pressed the shutter, a quick kiss.
In the spring of 1998, in an old New York apartment, young indie director Lisa Jolodenk stood behind the camera, watching what was happening in front of her as she was familiar. The filming of HIGH ART was like a flight party in her own apartment with a trance-like atmosphere. Lisa Jolodunk sat in the corner of the sofa, whispering slowly and clearly, her most secretive Friends started showing up in every corner of the room. In an almost murmured whisper, a photo on the wall slowly became different. The faces of two women stacked on top of each other in the photo became more and more vivid, staring silently at those two pairs of eyes full of longing and mutual rejection. During the time, a piercing pain has penetrated into your heart.
This incomparably beautiful and breathtaking photo appears at the end of the film as a bitter ending and a sweet souvenir. Another photo, an enlarged, light green-toned photo, framed against a white backing and hung on the bathroom wall, was the beginning of the relationship. The woman in the water in the photo looked terrified and desperate, as if she had seen what was going to happen at some point in the past, and knew the irreversible sad ending, a witch who watched others open the magic box.
Yes, the story is connected by photo after photo, and Lisa Jolodenk is clearly an avid photography fan. These photos appearing in the film are unique in style and never follow the rules. The characters either appear in the corners of the screen, or occupy almost the entire screen with half of their faces. They cry for help underwater and block each other in a cramped space. All the photos, all of which are randomly picked by a point-and-shoot camera in the chaotic life, but in an instant, the passing time and the impermanent life are condensed into a moment, and the secret of life and destiny suddenly appeared in our astonished moment. in front of you.
Just before the ominous picture in the bathroom, Sid and Lucy meet. These are the two heroines of the film who, by chance, live on the upper and lower floors of the same apartment building. Lucy, a female photographer who has retired for ten years, and her German lover Greda Krauss, the former female star in Fassbender's films, live a low-key and peaceful seclusion life in New York. What I often do is to smoke heroin in the living room and bedroom with friends. These people, who chose to disappear from the crowd, stay away from the hustle and bustle, and no longer appear on the cover of magazines, without those photos, without the photographic album that caused a sensation many years ago and is now lying on the bookshelf with ashes, Sid, the fledgling editor of a photo magazine, may never have known how dazzling they were in this world. And in fact, these people are living by our side now, accidentally becoming our neighbors. They dozed off in cafes, had sex on sofas, still made jokes about the Berlin Wall, broke water pipes and let water drip on our young faces downstairs.
Fassbender is dead, the Berlin Wall has already fallen, and Greda will never go back, the Berlin where angels fly in the movie, and the hellish Berlin in the eyes of Lucy's mother. These people lived in the reflection of time, and Sid came to the upstairs room as if in a time-traveling dream, and met Lucy, causing ripples in the reflection. In this world she can't see, the amazing photos, the strangely trance-like people, the charismatic Lucy, it's all like a hallucinogen mystery, and she's stuck in it go with. In the long and silent years, these people who have been stranded in time are full of tiredness and hopeless struggles in their hearts, which Sid has yet to see. But dreams always come to an end, not to mention the editor-in-chief is still urging the date of the photo to be published. The day she woke up, Lucy was dead. Or, on the day Lucy committed suicide, Sid woke up from a dream.
Lucy's last work, which appeared on the cover of a photography magazine, was a heartbreakingly beautiful photo of two women's faces stacked together.

出乎意料的好看。引用 Ansel Adams 的一句话:"You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved"
