war and humanity

A good war movie reflects something other than a war movie. Just as behind the war are deeper social and political issues. "Glorious Years" has a unique vision, focusing on a group of French colonial Arabs who represented France in World War II. In the past, World War II films tended to focus on criticizing the evil of the Nazis, but it seemed that they rarely mentioned the problems of the anti-fascist country itself. The film deeply reveals the evils of Western democracies, a limited democracy that only extends to white French society, a fraternity that cannot transcend skin color and belief, and a potential unrecognized but all-time-existing fictional equality. . This is probably a reflection on the political slogan itself. Many problems in human society, apart from discussing in the world of ideas, perhaps the most vivid practice itself can tell people, what is what? What should be what? How far are people from the world they should be? What I remember is the words of one of the corporals, "We face the same enemy as the French soldiers? Why can they eat tomatoes and we can't? There is no difference between the bullets the enemy shoots at us."

I actually watched it in 2009, and I have no impression. I will watch it again on my mobile phone in 2021. A film that aims to go first, the story integration is relatively poor, the two songs at the beginning and the end are good, and the characters of the five indigenous soldiers are well chosen, no wonder they won the Actors Award: Obedient, Pretender, Fantasy, Speculator and Revolutionary and, in the end, the revolutionaries survived.

There is its shadow in the Brotherhood, France, a country full of pain and inequality, but there are still people who have been treated unequally.
