This is a movie that I don't know why I watch it over and over again. Ethan Hawke always seems to have the expression of an innocent boy who has been left without discussion. Although Kudo Yuki is not a beauty, he is quite suitable for this bitter and sensitive role. The light and shadow switching between memory and reality is a bit trance-like. Following Ethan's memory, the whole story and emotional context become more complete and fuller, from the two children in childhood to the tender love in adulthood, to the advent of war, Helpless separation, cruel war, accidental shipwreck and lawsuit. . . Life is bound to have accidents, shipwrecks, forced separations, and wars. . . How do we live after all this How do we deal with accidents and the pain of those unfortunate accidents. From Issa's eyes, he can still see his love for Chu Hui and the pain of his memories. From the initial sarcasm towards Chu Hui to finally letting go of resentment and asking ourselves, can we possibly do it? For Issa, the resentment finally let go is finally reconciled with the past.
