Sense and Sensibility

This adaptation of Ang Lee's work is more successful in the creation of a lively atmosphere, which makes the original somewhat boring masterpiece show another attractiveness. The color tone, costume, and exterior design are still very flavorful, and the characters' emotions are delicate. The description is Ang Lee's strength, and the subtle expressions of each character's words and actions are sufficiently refined. It's a pity that the casting was a bit problematic, Emma Thompson's performance was impeccable, but a little too old, and Hugh Grant was set too much. As for the emotional entanglement, the film discards the common ethical criticism, but it is all excusable tenderness, which contributes to a happy ending.
