Men's war, women go away

Watching this movie has been very painful for me, because the relationship between the characters is too messy, and I really don't understand that history. But later, I realized that I don't need to know.
Because the heroine Margo has never been the leader of history, she is just a puppet at the mercy of fate.
This historical drama with a woman as the protagonist has not been filmed in a feminized manner as before. The heroine, who had a few strokes, was shot vertically and horizontally. She did not do what she did.

This movie depicts the helpless side of women in a patriarchal society. Being a queen is actually just a personality slave, relying on the body to quell the anger of men. What Margot showed more was her helplessness. She pleaded again and again, but no one listened. Besides, she was still a very independent woman, but under the sword of a man, she lost her right to speak again and again.

Maybe this was the real woman of that era, and the real reason the queen mothers gained power was that they had sons.

Men's war, women go away.

  • Catherine de Médicis: [to Henri de Navarre] The Protestants believe you betrayed them. They can't understand. What is betrayal but one's skill in following the flow of events?

  • Catherine de Médicis: I love my three children. I mean, all four of them.
