photography is too beautiful

This is a real oil painting with the characteristics of the film's plot, and it complements each other. You will be surprised by the director's excellent narrative ability and the real positive and humorous way of doing things. The western style of doing things is very different from the domestic narrative processing. The male and female protagonists of movies that are worth spending time watching are
relatively common. What is worth thinking about is that the character of the male protagonist's father is very personal and makes the characters three-dimensional and vivid. You'll remember the character, you'll think about his language, and you'll imitate his actions, which means that this movie is something that really touches you.

It turns out that I have seen so many films of this director, including the unpopular "The Years of the Dog Face", but I didn't remember Lasse Hallström. The styles of each film are too different. I thought it was a gathering of delicious food, but it turned out that there were not many dishes, and the theme was misunderstood at the beginning. I thought it was a story of an Indian family restaurant working together to defeat a French Michelin restaurant, but I didn't expect it to be an Indian chef. Well, let's just say it's normal.

The problem is that such a chick flick in a gourmet shell is too long.... It is much worse than Chef, another gourmet movie this year. The food is not beautiful enough, and the warm but cold colors all affect the perception. Helen Mirren couldn't impress me without a little enthusiasm, a little less Indian hustle and bustle.

The Hundred-Foot Journey quotes

  • Hassan: [narrating] And my mother was my instructor.

Mama: The sea urchins taste of life, don't you think ? Life has its own flavor. Hidden in that shell, raw, beautiful life.

Hassan: [narrating] It was an education for all of the senses.

Mama: But to cook, you must kill. You make ghosts. You cook to make ghosts. Spirits that live on in every ingredient.

Hassan: [narrating] But mostly, I was taught.

    Hassan: [Slurping] How to taste.

    Mama: Can you taste them?

  • Madame Mallory: Oh. Vous m'étonnez.

    [Chuckles]

Madame Mallory: You have it. Hmm. Your pigeon had it, too.

Hassan: I know. I knew then, and I know now.

    Madame Mallory: Arrogance.

    Hassan: A chef must lead.

Madame Mallory: Sharp and cool and hot in the mouth, all at the same time. Do you know how long it takes chefs to learn that? What will Papa say?
