Film Review, I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore, Reality in Madness

"Crazy reality" and "real madness" are like "me in the mirror" and "me outside the mirror", they seem different, but they are actually the same.

The movie I'm introducing today, Nowhere to Be Home, has a similar feeling. As an award-winning film in the American Drama Unit of the 33rd Sundance Film Festival, the work begins with an absurd comedy, ends with a bloody and violent middle, and then returns to the end of a peaceful life. The one-and-a-half-hour film allowed the audience to experience three distinct emotions.
Nowhere to Home - The story of an exhausted nurse who finds her home burglarized after coming home from get off work, but after losing confidence in the police handling the case, she investigates with her eccentric neighbors and puppies, but accidentally discovers an underground criminal organization s story.

The director and screenwriter Macon Blair, little-known, but a blockbuster, this absurd and metaphorical film is the best tribute to Blair's talent.
The protagonists of the work are played by Melanie Lynske and Elijah Jordan Wood.
Melanie as Ruth, a depressed and neurotic nurse. From the emergence of "Angel of Sin" (in the 1990s) to the rise of "Two and a Half Men", Mel's acting skills have gradually matured. This time, the heroine's mood (from depression and dullness at the beginning, to mania in the middle, and finally to calm down) is vividly expressed.

Elijah, who plays the eccentric, ninja-like Tony. Elijah, who came out of the "Lord of the Rings" series, has changed a lot in recent years. He is no longer living on his own, but has successfully transformed into a powerful faction through the interpretation of various characters. Playing Tony this time, words, actions, especially actions, portray this man who hates evil and has a weird nature.

The whole film, from the beginning is bland and tasteless - Ruth's house was stolen (depressed), help the police uncle to no avail (embarrassment), but unexpectedly met Tony (surprise); to the middle of the plot - from the two people found the thief (snickered), Ruth killed the thief by mistake (stunned), then Ruth was tied (inexplicable), then Tony chased after the "headquarters" (handsome), and the last 3 parties went shopping (exploded) ; and at the end the comeback is flat - Ruth, Tony and two friends are cooking American BBQ (that's life). This story has twists and turns, and the mood of the audience changes with the development of the story. Various styles are switched at will in the film, sometimes literary, sometimes thrilling, and now suspenseful. .
Written at the end, after watching the film, the two phrases "crazy reality" and "reality madness" once again occupied my brain. Thinking about it carefully, the social scene shown in this dark humorous film is not Is it a reproduction of "crazy reality"? And isn't the transformation of the kind-hearted protagonists (finally forced) the return of "the madness of reality"? Of course, at the end of the film, everything returned to calm. Ruth and Tony looked at each other and smiled, indicating that "the harbor of the heart is not material satisfaction, but inner peace".

Director★★★☆☆(The story is cleverly conceived, the plot and meaning are thought-provoking) Actor ★★★★
