Army life sucks. This movie shows you why.

I'm not really a big fan of dramas, or war movies, especially ones that portray soldiers fighting and the life in the army. I was in the army for a while, and I HATED it. So I guess that's why I like this movie - at least one of the reasons. This movie shows just how terrible army life is, and why not all soldiers are heroes. Some are terrible people; while others will do anything to get out of such a terrible life. The other reason is there is a bit of mystery here, as a father stops at nothing to try and solve the murder of his son, as well as a police woman tries to help the father while having to deal with the sexist prejudice of her police man coworkers. Even though the drama is a bit slow, it's still very interesting to watch the story unfold.
Personally, I don't really like dramas, or war movies, especially the kind that depict war and military life. I was a soldier for a while before, and I didn't like that experience, but that's probably one of the reasons I liked the movie. The film shows the bad life of the army and explains that not all soldiers are heroes, some of them are very bad, and some of them are trying to escape this bad life. Another reason is because there is a bit of suspense in this film, in which a father has been persistently inquiring about the truth of his son's murder. There was also a female police officer who tried to help the father, but in the process had to confront her male sexist colleagues. Although the plot in the film is a bit slow, it is still very interesting to see the story unfold slowly.

Too slow and uninspired, the only gimmick is an adaptation of real events

It turned out to be a muddled ending at the end? Generally speaking, the reality to be expressed is really too helpless, which will lead to such a screenwriter. In fact, this film is remarkable in all aspects, but it is too depressing, and I never want to watch it a second time.

Private Robert Ortiez: You got some real serious issues, man.

    Hank Deerfield: Yeah, that's true.

Private Robert Ortiez: I got an honorable discharge, if you can believe it.

Hank Deerfield: It's the Army, I can believe anything.

Hank Deerfield: [runs up flag upside down]

    School Janitor: Just like that?

    Hank Deerfield: Just like that.

School Janitor: It looks really old.

Hank Deerfield: It's been well used.

School Janitor: And I shouldn't take it down at night?

Hank Deerfield: No. You leave it just like that.

School Janitor: That's a lot easier.

    Hank Deerfield: Hm.
