Love is separated by mountains and seas, mountains and seas are not flat

War is so out of reach for the young people of this age. Even what I learned from books feels like a story my parents told when I was a child.

"Cold Mountain" begins with a profound description of the war, and Ada's letter is Inman's only hope in this cruel and death-shrouded darkness. It is Inman's belief to live. Because Inman was seriously injured in a mission, he was sent to the rear hospital to recuperate. The nurse reads Ada's letter, which is full of Ada's infinite thoughts about Inman. Inman is going to find Ada.

Inman's conversation with the blind man who sells peanuts is intriguing. "If you were asked to exchange one thing, you have 10 minutes to see the light, would you like it?" "10 minutes? I won't go out for a penny" "That way I will complain" "Yes." "No no No, that's not what I meant. That means you've just gained and you've lost." "Then we see it differently, as long as I stay in a place for 10 minutes I have nothing to give up." "Because a certain place, or Someone." Yeah. Inman is not like the blind old man who buys peanuts. Inman got it, and his girl was still waiting for him in the distance. The blind old man has never seen a wonderful view of spring when the wind blows the leaves and the sun casts shadows on the ground. How could he understand? Inman could give everything to get to Ada, even if he might be killed by his allies.

There was more than one episode that struck me deeply, in which Inman was in the same bed as a young widow. "Please don't do anything, just lie beside me, okay?" The young widow looked for her husband's taste through Inman. "He is about the same height as you and about the same size as you." The widow burst into tears, beside her An unknown stranger lay there. In this way, she used the warmth of this stranger to vent all her thoughts about her husband.

"After you go, all life is made up of painful chapters." After Ada's father died, Ada missed Inman even more. But she still lives strong, waiting for Inman. Waiting for Inman to come back one day. She went from being weak to a woman who could point a gun at someone else. When Inman came back and saw Ada, his eyes were full of surprise. He didn't expect such a gentle Ada to become a woman who could point a gun at others because of the war and the cruelty of reality. But when Ada saw Inman, all the tears, thoughts, weakness and love for Inman welled up in her eyes.

The movie puts the love between Inman and Ada into the war between North and South America, and tells us a love story about the war years in detail.

Bosie: Shoot her. She's not mine. You riding Mr. Teague's animal?

    Inman: I am.

    Bosie: He dead?

Inman: I hope so. Look, how old are you? Give me your gun and ride home, I'm done fighting. I'm sick of it.

Bosie: I give you my gun and you'll shoot me dead.

Inman: I will not shoot you, but nor am I walking down that mountain looking over my shoulder for you.

Bosie: That's what you call a conundrum. I tell you what I've got on my side.

Inman: What have you got on your side?

    Bosie: The confidence of youth.
