What doesn't destroy you makes you stronger, it becomes a part of you and redefines a new you, a completely different you.

But how can we not be destroyed and killed by it?

You can accumulate your material, exercise your body, enrich your experience, and in the end these things can only ultimately shape your soul, an evil or great soul, not the unpredictable one before A sculpted, drifting soul trapped in ego. In a family surrounded by love, she is happy and lucky; in a country of madness and dictatorship, she is sad and unfortunate. It was her perseverance and reading that made her what she became. Perseverance made her persevere after all the tragedies happened, and reading gave her the ability and method to accommodate all the tragedies into her body and mind.

This is the way to be yourself without being overwhelmed by impermanent fate.
