There is a saying in Buddhism that good is rewarded with good, and evil is rewarded with evil. I've always felt that this doesn't make sense, so at first I didn't believe in cause and effect. But then, I want to understand one thing, our past choices made us who we are now, whether right or wrong, they have become part of our life, we are ultimately responsible for our choices, can not Escape, because we cannot escape ourselves.
Hans Mayer, is his kindness in his later years atonement for his earlier self? The moment he saw Colinny, he understood that his past had finally found himself, and I believe he was repenting before he died, before the gun on his forehead opened fire.
Creating new vocabulary is to be separated from the old self, but the gun hidden in the book pulls him back to the old time again and again. Will he wake up in the middle of the night and return to that square? When I was young, I was fearless.
