Such a powerful appeal, to a certain extent, stems from the setting of classic images in animation. Trees, shadows, roads, clouds, seas, birds, grass, bicycles, pedestrians, these images are either warm or lonely, which play an indispensable role in the overall artistic conception and the communication of the theme. A column of trees is the main site of the story, tall and straight, with a stationary position. The vegetation is scattered, and when it is green again, the prosperity and the decline are replaced, and the life is endless. When the beauty is late, there is no chance of youth. Even though human life is also reincarnated, the subject after reincarnation has changed. Therefore, Wang Guowei wrote "The most important thing is that the world can't keep it, Zhu Yan speaks the mirror and the flower speaks the tree", how can it not be saddened. Trees and people, one is static and one is moving, one is eternal and one is short, which leads me to think about the ultimate problem. In addition, if a person wants to watch, feel melancholy, and miss, it is best to have a tall, solid and fixed object to rely on. The ancients of China often had to lean on the railing when they had something on their mind or waited for someone. The appearance of the railing means climbing or going far away, which means loneliness and sadness. Every time my daughter looks under the tree, she doesn't rely on it, but the touch is the same as leaning on a railing. In addition, the budding, lush, fallen leaves and lone branches of the tree actually imply the change of the four seasons, and also symbolize the life course of my daughter's life through the four seasons. Film itself is the art of light and shadow. Almost every object in this film has a shadow under the feet. With the movement of the object, the light and shadow also overlap and flow, making the whole picture harmonious and vivid, with texture and aura. And most of the shadows in the film are very long, probably left by the setting sun, which is in line with the warm yellow and lonely main tone of the whole film. I think the flow of light and shadow on the father, the movement under the wheel of the cyclist, has this effect. The appearance of shadows often makes me feel unreal, ethereal and unreachable, like a dream. The shadows hang in the air, and the shadows follow me, which not only increases the sense of layering and lines of the set, but also strengthens the loneliness and silence of all things. For example, the solitary, slender water bird and its projection on the water surface, such as the scene where the birds in the sky fly parallel to their shadows on the water surface, all bring a strong visual impact to the audience. Examples of this are numerous in the film. Grass, in this case reeds, appears at the end of the film. Reeds, or Jianjia, have a special flavor in Chinese classical literature. This is a plant full of rivers, lakes and swamps. It is long and thin in appearance. It often hangs its head and grows into a large piece, swaying gently in the bleak wind. The visual effect is similar to the wind blowing wheat waves. I have seen such fine and airy ripples in the boundless wilderness in winter. When I think of reeds, I think of autumn and winter, hoarfrost, wild geese, water waves, bitter cold and bleak wind. So we will sigh when we are hurt, as if touching the flow of time. In addition, the reeds are the prodigal sons of the rivers and lakes. Once the reeds are swaying, it is easy to make people's feelings of separation and frailty ripple in the heart. After the ripples, it is as deep, peaceful and distant as a lake. In the film, the father's boat is surrounded by such reeds, and it presents a kind of career destination in its perfection. And his daughter, who was in her twilight years, also walked through the neck-length deep grass along the way, staggered to find it, and left alone in the boat. Time sequence is permanent but seems impermanent, life and death are impermanent but seem to be permanent, so samsara alternates, life is endless, it is time, it is nature. Trees, shadows, grass, one is tall and firm, one is lonely and silent, the other is sad and peaceful, and the sunset, clouds, bicycles and the long distance form frame after frame full of Zen and beauty. There are many sad winds in the tall trees, no matter whether the sea is swaying, the wind and smoke are still, and the surface is clear, in the end we all have to return to the original waters, curl up and lie down in the embrace that accepts all things, in the quiet, Sleeping cold and soft. If we talk about love and death, the love here is the family love that melts into the blood and spends a lifetime, and the death here is the end of life that never changes and is eternally reincarnated. It is worth living and loving, even if it takes a short time to experience it and recall it in a long life. After all, time is passing by, and all living beings are passing by, only fleeting, but love, with its huge vitality, can make fleetingness an eternity destined for you and me.
