I don't know why the tears are falling

The whole play is also quiet.

The appearance of peace does not mean that the pain does not exist. The heroine and her husband have always had a close relationship, but soon after their son was born, the husband chose to commit suicide and left her. She didn't fall, she and her son were alive and well, and then got married and moved to another place. Everything was so peaceful, even I thought my injury was healed. But when she returned to her old place one day because of family affairs, everything woke up. She remembered the problems that had been lingering, the problems she couldn't figure out, and her deepest pain.

When I watched it, I felt that the heroine's strength and inner fragility were all placed in the movie.

Adapted from Miyamoto Teru's work.

Maborosi quotes

  • Yumiko: It's harder to say goodbye if we keep postponing it.

  • Yumiko: [Recalling her first husband's unexplained suicide] I just... I just don't understand! Why did he kill himself? Why was he walking along the tracks? It just goes around and around in my head. Why do you think he did it?

Tamio: [after giving it some thought] The sea has the power to beguile. Back when dad was fishing, he once saw a maborosi - a strange light - far out to sea. Something in it was beckoning to him, he said... It happens to all of us.
