The English name of "Autumn Harmony" is Late Autumn. "Late Spring" is so famous that I can't help but intuitively think that its real name is "Late Autumn". But apparently "Autumn and Harmony" is far more beautiful.
As Ozu's later work, the humor of the dialogue in this film is a little different from the previous one. The three men put together a play, flickering in front of his wife and girlfriends group, which makes people happy to watch.
This autumn day is obviously lonely, it belongs to farewell. If there is an inevitable farewell in the world, it must be between parents and children. This is a bit melancholy to say, this is an innate connection, and it is also a doomed separation from the beginning.
Seeing a joke, Aunt Zhang was very worried about Aunt Li's daughter's marriage, "What if she doesn't get married, what if she's old?" Aunt Li didn't care, "When she's old, I've long since returned to the West, and I'll be worried about it. Well?"
Although this passage is satirizing the nosy aunt, but if you think about this kind of indifferent and open-minded mother-daughter relationship, does it really exist? In "Autumn Harmony", the mother Qiuzi said to Ayako that your grandmother will leave her daughter just like herself, and the attachment and loneliness in her heart are self-evident. The same is true for the daughter. Although she said that it would be great if her mother fell in love with someone, she lost control when she knew her mother was going to remarry.

The twists and turns finally reconciled in the autumn. Ayako looked for her own happiness, and Qiuzi chose loneliness. Such loneliness is also a kind of happiness.
