Granny Tang and Granny Qian

I watched Spirited Away on and off before, and today I watched the full movie carefully. This time, the film review deviates a bit, not talking about the protagonist, but about the twin sisters.

Granny Tang and Granny Qian are like the Red Queen and White Queen of Alice in Wonderland, one is kind and the other is evil.

The first time Granny Tang appeared, she saw that she was a person who was greedy and impersonal. Looking at the visit from the faceless man and the river god from the back, it further confirmed that she was mercenary. But even so, you can see the good side of her, that is, she loves her little master, and the brilliance of mother's love gives her extra points. (Actually, I don't know that giant baby but it's her son)

The first time I saw Granny Qian, I also gave me a bad impression. I felt that she was the same person as her sister. She wanted to kill Bai Long and turned the giant baby into a mouse, so that people could label her as a bad person. There is also Grandpa Boiler's description of the place where Granny Qian lives, which stabilizes Granny Qian's bad character. Then when Chihiro went to visit her, she discovered that she was actually very kind and amiable, and she was a world away from her sister, and her favorability level went up for a while. This surprise is still surprising.

One more misstep in the end, I think the white dragon is the son of the river god, because they are all dragons, hahahahahaha.

There is a little vague little love... Little Bailong repays her favor, and Chihiro thinks of herself and her little lover's name. To help the guests take a bath, the little briquettes ran back and forth. These experiences are so fun for me, I will definitely not become a big pig, I will not eat indiscriminately, and wash the guests cleanly. Xiao Bailong will always be nice to me ^^ back to 14 years old:)

I should have watched this cartoon a few years ago. The difference in mental age made me feel bored after watching it, and even feel boring. And Bailong's hairstyle looks like a woman no matter what. I was deceived by high ratings. Japanese cartoons are really not suitable for me.

Spirited Away quotes

  • [in Japanese]

Zeniba: I'd like to help you, dear, but there's nothing I can do. It's one of our rules here. You've got to take care of your parents and that dragon boyfriend of yours, on your own.

Chihiro: But, um, can't you even give me a hint? I feel like Haku and I met, a long time ago.

Zeniba: In that case, it's easy. Nothing that happens is ever forgotten, even if you can't remember it.

  • [in Japanese]

Chihiro: Listen, Haku. I don't remember it, but my mom told me... Once, when I was little, I fell into a river. She said they'd drained it and built things on top. But I've just remembered. The river was called... Its name was the Kohaku River. Your real name is Kohaku.

[Haku slowly changes into a boy again, permanently shedding away his white dragon skin. The two are falling from the sky, holding each other's hands]

Haku: Chihiro, thank you. My real name is Nigihayami Kohaku Nushi.

    Chihiro: Nigihayami?

    Haku: Nigihayami Kohaku Nushi.

Chihiro: [starts to cry] What a name. Sounds like a god.

Haku: I remember too, how you fell into me as a child. You had dropped your shoe.

Chihiro: Yes, you carried me to shallow water, Kohaku.

[they put their faces close together, close enough to kiss]

    Chihiro: I'm so grateful!
