I'm fine

I saw the trailer of "Elizabethtown" on the DVD of a certain movie a long time ago, and it feels very good. So it became one of my summer movie marathons this year, and it was also the one that impressed me the best. Tonight, I had too much coffee, so I relived this video that taught me a lot.
Although the match between the Elf King in the Lord of the Rings and Spider-Man's girlfriend is a bit weird, Dunst's charming smile and playful little tiger teeth make up for this problem. The two people are also indispensable for having such a colorful and relaxing and warm sketch in Hollywood's popular commercial blockbusters. The film is all typical American: life, relatives and friends, funerals, weddings and even background music, but all the optimism about life to be expressed is global. To some extent, this is also an important reason why American culture or Hollywood culture can colonize the culture of the world. Of course this is not the focus of this article.
The film probably said: Drew (played by broom) is a designer of a well-known sports shoe brand company. He is talented and quickly rose to the company’s high-profile star in a short period of time. At the same time, he was highly regarded by his boss. The favor of a beautiful female colleague. However, he was responsible for a perfect sneaker designed for eight years, which caused the company to lose 1 billion yuan due to fatal problems, causing the company to face bankruptcy. At this time, Drew was faced with a huge number of recalled products and company employees' eyes and actions like seeing a mouse crossing the street, and Drew responded with a sluggish expression and the "I'm fine" that everyone must say. Of course he was also fired. After returning home, he was extremely unlucky and prepared to commit suicide, but the news of his father's death brought him back to reality. As the eldest son, he returned to his father's hometown-----Elizabeth Town to preside over his father's funeral. I met Clare (Dunst), a confident and optimistic girl on the plane flying to his father's hometown. In his hometown of Elizabethtown, Drew began to explore the background of his father's life and family, and with Claire's help to find his own destiny and self.
The whole film is very peaceful, the story structure is very simple, there is no such complicated story clues as "21 Grams" and "crash". But simplicity has amazing beauty, touch and power. Dunst just smiled, but it made the tone of the whole film happy and lively. Drew’s mother danced with the Moon river to tap dance, explaining all the love for her husband and her philosophy of life. A music travel diary, but let a person who failed to the end recognize himself again and find his true love. From beginning to end, the film always runs through the melodious and cozy notes, coupled with the quiet and cozy rural scenery of the southern United States, to make the film icing on the cake.
The first highlight of the film is its American humor. At the beginning of the film, Drew wanted to commit suicide. He awkwardly took off the handle of the fitness equipment, tied the knife with tape, and stood aside with the remote control smirkly admiring his well-designed suicide tool. However, the knife fell off at the last critical moment with a "poof", and the camera gave the knife a silent close-up, which made people laugh. And when Drew saw his father's body, he looked left and right, but he kept muttering in his heart: what's the word? Finally, a word came out: whimsical. Haha, everything is so easy.
The second highlight of the film is its soundtrack. The film’s director and screenwriter Cameron Crow’s wife is Nancy Wilson, a member of the rock band heart, so the film uses a lot of rock, country folk and blues. It includes works by famous musicians such as ryan adams and the tempation. This film has two original soundtracks, which I personally think are the best choice for European and American music enthusiasts.
The third highlight of the film is the theme, which is also the biggest highlight. In the film, when the funeral ceremony is held to commemorate the deceased, whether it is a partner who grew up wearing a crotch, or the so-called childhood sweetheart, the lines squeezed out are so boring and monotonous, and when we When Drew’s mother was the last to speak on stage, when she was tapping with the moon river, we no longer think that she was crazy about cooking, repairing cars, and going to tap dance training classes after hearing the bad news because of excessive sadness, but Because of love, because of love for her husband and love for life.
The reason why a good movie is good is that it truly reproduces life and touches something deep in people's hearts. "Yi" is such a good movie. The director really showed the story of an ordinary small town in the United States, and told us through this story: everyone will experience setbacks and failures, and when we experience these, we use a different heart to look at and feel life again. At this point, you will find that in the process of growing up, you have overlooked a lot of things that should be cherished. The feeling of regaining treasures is indescribable, and life will start again from another starting point. Like Drew's father said: If it wasn't this, it would be something else.
When I watched this film, my life was a mess, and it was this film that supported me. Our life is still very long. In the face of failure and setbacks, you have 5 minutes to wallow in the delicious misery. Enjoy it, embrace it, discard it and proceed. Of course, don't forget to say to yourself: I'm fine.

PS: The soundtrack of this film is very good, and there are many introductions to native American culture. It is a good film. Don't miss it!

No true fiasco ever began as a quest for mere adequacy.
"Sadness is easier because its surrender. I say make time to dance alone with one hand waving free."

  • Claire Colburn: So you failed. Alright you really failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You think I care about that? I do understand. You wanna be really great? Then have the courage to fail big and stick around. Make them wonder why you're still smiling.
