Inspiration from failure

"Black Hawk Down" is a war movie made by the United States in 2001, mainly about a small battle between the US military and the Somali warlord militia. This movie is more like a war documentary from an American perspective, and it is top-notch in describing the reality, blood and chaos of the war scenes.

The article in the movie review describing the background and actual situation of this campaign has already been praised at the top, so I don't need to repeat it.

I have no doubts about the U.S. sending troops to Somalia to carry out "humanitarian rescue". At that time, the U.S. was still known as a beacon country, and beauty was the biggest trend in the world.

What I care more about is what kind of inspiration this failed operation has brought me.

The United States is very familiar with arresting leaders in other countries. Why did this operation in Somalia fail?

Clinton's judgment is very accurate. This action can indeed increase the influence of the United States as a great power, but the premise is that only "success" can have good international influence, and "failure" can only make the United States lose face in front of the world.

Therefore, in terms of results, this is actually an action that can only succeed and not fail. But American politicians did not heed the suggestion of sending troops because of various concerns, and refused to mobilize more lethal weapons and more soldiers.

No matter how cruel the war situation is, the casualty ratio between Somali militia and the US military is huge. Two US Black Hawk helicopters were shot down and the operation failed. This is an indelible fact.

The teacher said, do not fight unprepared battles. So when the U.S. military decides to act, success is the primary goal, and everything else is secondary. Those political considerations must be successful, so why worry about the use of larger weapons?

After a short period of preparation, the film has entered a suffocating and non-stop climax; one of the best done is the depiction of the details of the war, in such a complex tactical terrain, allowing the audience to understand to the greatest extent The whole situation is not confused, whether it is editing or Scott's scheduling, it is perfect; but the paragraphs and details that are deliberately added for the so-called sublimation theme are really superfluous.

Look at the scene, war is cruel... but it is always inevitable
