The climactic quarrel, their accusation of each other, is the same imperfections in each other, like sitting in front of a psychiatrist at first, they refuse to admit that this was what was once fascinating, and the lawyer's intervention is the catalyst that makes the Perfection moves towards fierce collision, and emotion moves towards explosion.
Some people commented that "Marriage Story" said that we can share hardships and can't share joys. That's just superficial. It tells a more fundamental fact - to compare the confession at the beginning and the quarrel in the climax, the difference between the two lines proves that , why people who were once attracted to each other always inevitably drift apart in the end:
That's because people are always easy to see small flaws in each other. At the beginning, it was a cute trait of a person, and it was a joke in chat.
