Atonement Negative Evaluation

"Atonement" has a strong epic movie and war movie temperament. The film has a seemingly grand narrative structure, and it does not hesitate to spend a lot of money to make a ten-minute retreat in Dunkirk. This is not unnecessary, but it does not need to be that long. Because the story to be told in this movie is actually very simple, it's just a British tragedy. However, it is this kind of tragic love that is complicated and not complicated, and simple but somewhat not too simple, which makes the director and screenwriter a war-like epic. In fact, these factors that are rigidly attached have weakened an originally good love story.
Secondly, the film is too technically sophisticated and inevitably gives people a sense of craftsmanship. Technology is necessary, but showing off technology too much is a waste and easily annoying. For several plots, the director arranged a dual-angle or even multi-angle narration. Many details show off the director's extraordinary cleverness. In fact, these things are small tricks, without great wisdom. If you use it too much, it can only be counterproductive.
