Xue Listin, a maid, finds a new job in the suburbs. Her employer, everyone in the Montais family is weird. Mrs. Monterey is a frigid woman, her husband is a hunter (animals and women) all day long, and the old Mr. Monterey is a fetishist. Zusif , who works on the farm, is a fascist and has an unruly desire for Xue Listin. Xerxestin finally could not bear to resign, but she stayed because a child was raped and murdered, and she believed that the murderer was Zusif.

This is a remake of the 1945 American film of the same name by Jean Renoir, based on the novel of the same name by French writer Mirbeau. In 1939, an introverted and well-bred woman came to Provence from Paris to work as a maid for an upper-class family. She soon discovers that this is a rather depraved family, full of hypocrisy and eccentricities, and that some seemingly innocuous hobbies may well have contributed to the death of a girl. The maid decided to conduct a private investigation to find out the truth of the incident.
