Exorcist: The Beginning movie plot

Father Castor Merlin (Strand Skagarde) thinks he has seen the face of a demon. Because of the war, innocent people in Roger Mason 's parish were cruelly persecuted. In the years after the end of World War II, Roger Mason has been tortured by such terrible memories. As Roger Mason saw, his colleagues and believers had left him, and he could no longer justify calling himself a pastor.
Roger Mason, who was basically desperate, started a long journey from his native Netherlands, hoping to get rid of the horror he had seen. When Roger Mason came to Cairo , he met an antique collector who invited him to join a British archaeological excavation team in Kenya . The team discovered a Christian church from the Istanbul era. But what is incomprehensible is that there are various signs that this religion was buried by people just after it was built. Collectors hope that Roger Mason, who has studied archeology at the University of Oxford, can discover the monuments hidden in the church before the British archaeological team.
But under the church, something ancient is sleeping, waiting to be awakened. The madness came to the local villagers and British soldiers who were unearthed by the guards. Roger Mason watched helplessly as the cruel war fell on the innocent villagers. He prayed not to let him see this cruel scene again. The blood of the innocent is flowing freely on the plains of East Africa, but this is only the beginning of terror.
There, the devil was born, and Roger Mason will finally see his real face.

I can't say it because I think it looks good. I watched it in an Internet cafe after drinking that day. I guess this state is the most suitable for watching religious horror movies.

Exorcist: The Beginning quotes
