The play is based on the 2000 sci-fi movie of the same name, and the protagonist of the drama version is changed to a woman. The story follows Raimy Sullivan (Peton Lister), a female detective living in 2016, who finds herself able to talk to her father Frank Sullivan (Riley Smith) in 1996 over ham radio. This connection allowed Raimy to save Frank, who was supposed to die in 1996, but Raimy's life was thrown into disaster when Raimy began interfering with history through her father's old radio station, and she was stunned by the bizarre succession of events - "The Butterfly Effect" The subtle repercussions have unpredictable consequences. The two have to form a new partnership - Frank helps Raimy solve decades-long unsolved murders, and the two struggle to get their lives back on track.
