Compared to an alternative superhero story, this time the protagonist is an unwelcome job. The first half is a course for public brand image building, and the "love drama" in the second half is neither poignant nor touching. The plot is severely compressed, making it impossible to chew.

Ray Embrey: Do you want him to kill us all?

Hancock: No.
Ray Embrey: You're an asshole. I know. I call it like I see it, though. It's not a crime to be an asshole, but it's very counter-productive. Not a crime, but you are an asshole, don't you think?
