King Kong Computer Production New York City

As New York has undergone earth-shaking changes over time, it is impossible to transform it on the spot. However, with the advanced computer technology in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the visual effects technicians are enough to turn back the clock. In order to create a fake CG city, the special effects department found a large number of New York photos at that time. The technicians compared these photos with current New York City data and removed all buildings after 1933. After all the preparations were completed, the computer program began to rebuild the city under the control of strict standards, from the architectural style to the door frames to the materials and decorative colors. The entire city took a year to complete, including 57,468 unique Manhattan buildings, 32,839 Queens, Brooklyn, and New Jersey buildings, extending over 26 miles. All buildings in the city are 3D buildings, and the new software allows the camera to intersperse arbitrarily. Special effects technicians also specially designed weather software to create rain and snow effects.
