The original idea for this series came from horror film director Mick Garris, who in 2002 dined in California with a group of industry friends. During the banquet, they talked very happily and cherished each other. After that, Galis convened 10 directors and other masters of the horror genre to come together to create a set of horror film episodes. In 2005, Galis was both a producer and a director, creating each episode. The 1-hour "Masters of Horror" series (26 episodes in two seasons), featuring renowned directors such as Don Cascarli, Stuart Gordon, Takashi Miike, John McNaughton, Horo Tsuruta, etc., have participated in the series.
