Marilyn is a working girl in Phoenix, Arizona. She is tired of secretly meeting with Sam Lumus during her lunch break, because almost all the money he earns has to be used to pay for the alimony of his ex-wife, so he can't and Marilyn marry. One day, Marilyn’s boss asked her to bring 40,000 yuan in cash to the local bank to deposit. Because she desperately wanted to change her life, she fled the town on impulse, and she decided to live with her lover Sam in California again. When she drove away from the town, the night was dark and heavy rain began to fall, so she had to drive off the highway. The exhaustion of long-distance driving and the pressure of running away from the money made her almost nervous, so she decided to go Rest at the Bates Hotel by the road for one night. The owner of the motel is Norman Bates. He has a strange temperament, and he loves and fears his mother who is lying in bed. After Marilyn finished the dinner Norman prepared for her, she returned to the room to prepare for a bath. When she entered the bathtub, a strange thing happened.

[S] HOLY SHIT! He is undoubtedly the highest work of Fat Guards, this film makes "suspense" appear weak in any other work. A few literary dramas in the opening briefly introduce the characters and quickly enter the topic. Although the first half is only motivated by "theft", the sense of immersion from the first-person perspective throughout the entire process makes suspenseful (a sense of suspense of escape is enough to kill later generations of "murder") ; And the story after the famous bathroom murder is further upgraded to solve the case, which includes hiding the corpse and the second murder; the ending and the epilogue push the suspense to the climax and explain all the doubts in the whole film, and it seems that all the dust settles and ends. His monologue is creepy. Although the case-solving process in the second half is a bit repetitive and clichéd, it is really insignificant compared to the surprise of the whole film. The originator of split personality and the pinnacle of psychological horror and suspense.

The beginning of the suspense thriller, the first half of the heroine absconded with the money, the rainy night driving, the overnight stay in the villa, the bathroom was killed in a dangerous situation, the offensive gaze of the police and the lascivious peeping of the boss were all depressing and fearful; the second half Part of the truth is revealed step by step, supplemented by Oedipus complex, split personality, several twists and turns have caused multiple sensory and psychological stimulation and shock, full of dramatic tension. I hate the conclusion of the psychologist at the end.

Psycho quotes

  • Norman Bates: She needs *me*. It's not as if is she were a maniac, a raving thing. She just goes - a little mad sometimes. We all go a little mad sometimes. Haven't you?

Marion Crane: Yes. Sometimes just one time can be enough.

  • Milton Arbogast: Now, if this girl, Marion Crane, were here - you wouldn't be hiding her would you?

    Norman Bates: No.

Milton Arbogast: Not even if she paid you?

    Norman Bates: No.

Milton Arbogast: Lets just say, just for the sake of argument, that she wanted you to gallantly protect her, you'd know that you were being used. That you wouldn't be made a fool of, would you?

Norman Bates: Well, I'm not a fool. And I'm not capable of being fooled! Not even by a woman.
