Reverie movie plot

"Extant" creator Mickey Fisher is in charge of NBC's new "Reverie Reverie," which tells the story of Mara (Sarah Shahi, "Person of Interest" star), a former police detective specializing in "human behavior", who is brought in to a state-of-the-art. Virtual reality programs, in which virtual reality has dangerous and unintended consequences. Rude, brought into the "Reverie" to save others, Mara is a professor of interpersonal dynamics at a pheasant university. She used to be a hostage negotiator and is now suffering from post-traumatic stress after witnessing her brother-in-law kill her sister and niece.
Jessica Lu as Alexis Barrett, founder of Reverie, a fully immersive, customizable virtual reality system that customers can use with simple neurotransmitters. Working with security consultant Charlie Ventana and several investors, she's very proud of her system, but when some of the first users don't return to reality and go into a coma, Alexis has to do damage control. Sendhil Ramamurthy as Paul Hammond, the virtual system's lead dream scientist, or you might call him the dream expert, who designed the Reverie's factory settings and training modes.
Dennis Haysbert plays former Chief Superintendent Charlie Ventana, who was Mara's boss when she was still in law enforcement; he works at Reverie and recruits Mara to solve the virtual reality program's problems. Kathryn Morris as Monica Shaw, a U.S. Department of Defense official with a vested interest in the Reverie VR system; when she learns of VR's non-reality problems, Monica works with security chief Charlie to control damage and rescue the program , otherwise the US Department of Defense will withdraw.
