Will, a British kid in the 1980s , is thin, dull, and unremarkable. In addition to school all day is at home, living a life of two points and one line. The parents disciplined Will very strictly, forbidding him to watch TV, let alone go out to the movies. So, Will, who stays at home every day, can only rely on painting to relieve his boredom. At this time, Will never imagined that he would become obsessed with movies soon.
It allan eccentric kid named Lee Carter. The kid, whom his classmates see as a freak, is obsessed with weird movies, and somehow suddenly makes friends with Will. Carter showed Will a videotape of the popular "First Blood", played by Stallone. It was this "First Blood" that opened another door in Will's life.
After watching the movie, Will could not forget it for a long time. He was excited by the intense action scenes in the film. At this time, he had an ideal, that is, to shoot his own action movie. Of course, to accomplish this dream, he must first break through the control of his parents. Then, he and Carter took a small camera and started shooting in the suburbs. The two were in charge of everything, and Will named his character Son of Rambow, and the whole movie was about Rambo's son going into battle to rescue the old Rambo from captivity.
Will and Carter fiddled with their movies every day in the suburbs. Gradually, the little world of these two weirdos was discovered by other students in the school, and all the students asked for them to join the filming plan. Will, who was going to make a pure action movie, encountered all kinds of classmates, but Carter didn't care about the direction of the whole movie. So, during the running-in process, the whole movie became more and more diverse, and the crew became more and more. Er and Carter also had more fun.
