In the third year of the Clone Wars, the Great Republic Army led by the Jedi Knights and the Confederation of Independent Galaxies fell into a bitter battle that swept across the entire galaxy. General Grievous, the terrifying separatist robot officer, raided the capital of the Republic and kidnapped the Supreme Speaker Palpatine (actually a conspiracy planned by Palpatine). It is an attempt to take hostages to escape Coruscant, Obi-Wan Kenobi (the Separatist fleet) and Anakin Skywalker () board isolated The force's flagship "Invisible Hand" launched a rescue operation.
Anakin rescued the Speaker and beheaded Count Dooku under the constant instruction of the Speaker, and then controlled the "Invisible Hand" to force landing on the surface of Coruscant. The defeated Separatist fleet retreated to the outer ring star field. The end of the secessionist forces seemed not far away, but Palpatine ordered the Jedi generals to step up their offensive and refused to give up the emergency right to deal with.

After being named Darth Vader by Palpatine, he led a legion of clone soldiers to wipe out his former companions in the Jedi Temple. Palpatine activated the planned automatic prevention mechanism-Order 66, and clone soldiers all over the galaxy opened fire on their Jedi chiefs. Vader rushed to the planet of Mustafa, wiped out the Separatist Committee, and ended the Clone Wars. Amidst the cheers of the parliament, Palpatine abolished the Galactic Republic and proclaimed himself emperor. The evil Sith ruled the galaxy after a thousand-year conspiracy, and the Galactic Empire rose from the ashes after the collapse of the Old Republic.
Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi escaped. They returned to Coruscant aboard Senator Bell Organa’s "Tantif IV" spacecraft. Yoda fights the newly crowned emperor in the Galactic Council. At the same time, Obi-Wan followed Anakin to Mustafa. This pair of former masters and apprentices also launched a life and death duel.
