The performance is okay, Jake Gyllenhaal also counts as an acting guarantee, acting as a gay disabled person, is it one step closer to Oscar? But the movie lacks new ideas, and the rendering is more tacky, but it is also incited to cry. I really can't see Jake crying and saying "I love you". Killed...

This is very old and beautiful, and the always gloomy Gyllenhaal plays the lead role of the big child, which is also in line with the image of stepping out of the shadow of disaster. There is a good beginning, the process is very boring, and the ending is very emotional and American-style self-righteousness, which is moved and sublimated, that's all.

Stronger quotes

  • Carlos: So I ran to the fire, and there you were. Helping you made me feel like I had helped my son. And for that, I am grateful.

    Jeff Bauman: You are grateful?

Carlos: Yeah. You help me as much as I help you. and I came here to say "Thank you."

  • Jeff Bauman: [voice over] And now it's just about healing, getting better, and showing the world I'm fine and that, you know. I'm not gonna let this hold me down, you know, because maybe if they see that, then maybe they won't let stuff hold them down, either. And, you know, there's always gonna be pain, I think, but, I don't know, I just wanna, like... live.
