The adaptation of masterpieces has always been a thankless job, and unless the high quality of "Gone with the Wind" can be produced, it will inevitably be short and long. "David Copperfield" has a very broad mass base, and it is even more difficult to meet all requirements. Even so, "The Personal History of David Copperfield" perfectly avoids all the words of praise that can be given to it. If the skin color of the character is the director’s ingenious and profound intention, then the big jump in the narrative has to be said to be a major mistake in script writing. If the above-mentioned failure is a lack of ability, David will come together with his second wife and have children without confessing the death of his first wife. This flaw is undoubtedly an irresponsible attitude.

David Copperfield: What are you doing?
Betsey Trotwood: Medicine. I'm reviving you.
David Copperfield: This is salad dressing.
Betsey Trotwood: Is it? Thought it was Armagnac. Don't have my spectacles on.
