"The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer" is a complete idiot comedy. This film can only be made in an era of innocence. Irving Rice is a director who doesn't know how to adapt. This film is impossible to be filmed in the 21st century under such an obscene premise
. Part of the farce of the film is wonderful, but the rest is stupid, and the plot of the film is easy to predict. Cary Grant's funny performance style and staged funny interpretation, Shirley Temple, as a young actor, has a good interpretation of what a teenager should be, which makes the film more interesting

Chester Walters: I had not anticipated your winding up in jail. I have a life of my own, you know.
-
Chester Walters: You're charged with hitting the district attorney.
[sic]
Chester Walters: Did you or did you not hit him?
Richard (Dick) Nugent: I hit him. That's right. But at the time I hit him, I did not know he was the ASSISTANT district attorney. If I had known he was the ASSISTANT district attorney... I would have hit him.
