Aside from the cleanness of the shots and maybe a little bit of cleverness in the symbolic metaphors (and Tibby Headley's looks, of course), it's almost a waste of time to watch it these days.

It is really "the forest is big, and there are all kinds of birds". What a thriller, a horror movie from the 60s, the pictures and the story are all great. The crow chasing the child is so tense and realistic. But I wonder: are all the birds in the movie real? And I think of the bird on Cai Kangyong's shoulder. ps saw Pang Xi holding 3 puppies at a glance.

Mitch Brenner: Aren't those lovebirds?
Melanie Daniels: No, those are, uh, red birds.
Mitch Brenner: Oh, I thought they were strawberry finches.
Melanie Daniels: Oh, yes. We call them that, too.
