Brando Sethis a scientist. He invented a space-time teleportation device by himself. At a party, he met the female reporter Vinika. Brondo Seth took her to his residence and asked her to experiment with stockings. As a result, to Vinica's expectation, the stockings passed from one transfer room to another. After seeing it, Vinika was eager to announce the results of Brondo Seth to the public. But Brondo Seth had a better idea. When he wanted to send life forms to himself, he would let Vinica publish it. Vinika agreed, and promised to record the entire experiment of Brondo Seth.
The two gradually became in love with each other, and Brondo Seth's experiment was completed. They used a baboon to do a teleportation experiment, and the result was very successful. Brondo Seth then experimented with himself, but then Brondo Seth found that he seemed to be a different person, he became very strong, and he was full of energy and sexual desire. What's more frightening is that Brondo Seth's back grows many pointed bristles. Vinika secretly tested these bristles, and the results showed that the bristles were an insect, which made Vinika very scared. Over time, Brondo Seth also felt that something was wrong. He used a computer to analyze it. It turned out that during that experiment, a fly flew into the transmission room, and Browndo Seth and the fly carried out genetic fusion. As a result, he and the fly became one.
What's bad is that Vinika is already pregnant with Brondo Seth's child at this time. She was very afraid that the child she would give birth to was an alien, so she decided to give up the child. However, Brondo Seth took Vinika away and asked him to become one with himself. Vinika fought hard. In the end, Seth, whose humanity was resurrected, chose to destroy himself. He grabbed the barrel of the gun and pressed it on his head, begging her to shoot. In the end, Vinika ended Seth's life in grief.

"The Fly" is a remake of the 1958 film of the same name and based on the 1957 short story of the same name. The plot line is roughly the same as the original. A scientist's experiments lead to fatal changes and tragedies in his own body, but also joined the More elements and concepts that the director is good at. The loss of hair, teeth, and nails, the asymmetrical proportions of the body, and the mucus secreted by the body create a sense of being close to a person rather than a person. In fact, it also involves the horror of intimacy, the fear of copulation with aliens, aliens, and the creation of the next nondescript, unclassifiable organism whose growth and changes are completely out of any control. The beginning is a common love scene in Hollywood-style realism, but the style itself has a sense of weirdness. With the changes in the subtle features of Seth's body and face, it eventually leads to an imaginary unknown creature without major breaks in the middle. Instead, the gradient unfolds, which adds credibility to the story. Freud described the uncanny qualities of these characters, their horror not coming from their strangeness or difference, but from their familiarity.

The Fly quotes

  • Seth Brundle: [to Veronica] You're afraid to dive into the plasma pool, aren't you? You're afraid to be destroyed and recreated, aren't you? I'll bet you think that you woke me up about the flesh, don't you? But you only know society's straight line about the flesh. You can't penetrate beyond society's sick, gray, fear of the flesh. Drink deep, or taste not, the plasma spring! Y'see what I'm saying? And I'm not just talking about sex and penetration. I'm talking about penetration beyond the veil of the flesh! A deep penetrating dive into the plasma pool!

  • Tawny: There's no elevator, I can't make it.

Seth Brundle: No, there's an elevator.

[picks her up in his arms]

Seth Brundle: There, don't you feel elevated?
