The Fly Shooting process

The outline of the story conceived by the screenwriter Charles Edward Bogle is very similar to Langland's original work, focusing on the gradual process of the protagonist. After determining the script, Cornfield recruited Mel Brooks to co-produce the film and quit in Bogle. After that, Cornfield commissioned Warren Green to rewrite the script, but the latter's story deviated from the direction, so Cornfield had to find Boge to perfect the script.
When Brooks and Cornfield looked for a suitable director for the film, David Cronenberg was their first choice, but Cronenberg was assisting Dino de Laurentius in the preparation of "Total Memories." So Cornfield decided to use the British director Robert Bierman. Bielman quickly flew to Los Angeles to meet with Pog. Just as the pre-production of the film was on track, Bielman’s daughter was killed in an accident, so Bielman could not resume work in a short time, and the two parties had to terminate the contract.
Later, after learning that Cronenberg had given up "Total Memories", Cornfield again extended an invitation to him. Cronenberg agreed to be the director, but only if he had to rewrite the script himself. Cronenberg's revised script is completely different from Warren Green in style, but still retains the basic plot of the original script.

When I read the comments, I loved this movie, but after watching it, I was a little disappointed. In the end, the male pig seemed to have stolen Hellboy's muscle suit and put it on, but it didn't fit well... and the female pig is really admirable! ! ! !

I am afraid that only watching this horror movie as a child can realize the deep fear it brings to you. I watched this movie with my parents when I was 5 or 6 years old, and now I can't find the feeling of being scared to sleep. But it's not hard to imagine what kind of sensation this movie would have when it came out in 1986

The Fly quotes

  • Seth Brundle: [to Veronica] You're afraid to dive into the plasma pool, aren't you? You're afraid to be destroyed and recreated, aren't you? I'll bet you think that you woke me up about the flesh, don't you? But you only know society's straight line about the flesh. You can't penetrate beyond society's sick, gray, fear of the flesh. Drink deep, or taste not, the plasma spring! Y'see what I'm saying? And I'm not just talking about sex and penetration. I'm talking about penetration beyond the veil of the flesh! A deep penetrating dive into the plasma pool!

  • Tawny: There's no elevator, I can't make it.

Seth Brundle: No, there's an elevator.

[picks her up in his arms]

Seth Brundle: There, don't you feel elevated?
