1. Chaplin plays two important roles in the film at the same time, because they have one or two things in common: they have a small beard and they are both short. This is the advice given by British producer Alexander Kodak.
2. "The Great Dictator" was pressured by German diplomats and American fascist organizations during the filming, but Chaplin still did not change his original intention and publicly challenged the Nazis.
3. In order to shoot the film, Chaplin worked hard.
4. Hitler's speech, played by Chaplin, is full of German-like gibberish. You can hear German "schnitzel", "kimchi" and "liver sausage". In fact, those words are meaningless, they are just a great mockery of Hitler's speech style.
5. The earth dance in the film originated in the late 1920s. At a Hollywood party, Chaplin once danced with a globe and a Prussian helmet.
6. The last scene of the movie is supposed to be two hostile armies dancing together. Later they gave up due to technical problems, and Chaplin temporarily changed to a speech.
