Adapted from the novel of the same name by John Swithen , it tells a horror story in the small town of Maine: a thick The Mist suddenly swept the town. The Mist hides mysterious evil monsters, and almost all creatures are within its attack range. Trapped people do their best to escape the deadly threat posed by The Mist. Australian supermodel Alyssa Sutherland , who played Queen Aslaug in Vikings , starred in the series, and another notable cast is American Horror Story star Frances Conroy .
