The mistake of "The Return of the Mummy" is to abandon the characterization and only use the plot as a clothesline for special effects and action scenes. If it weren't for the 1999 "Mummy", this sequel would have no plot at all.
The real scene of the film was combined with the computer, and many magical and eye-catching special effects were shot. The scene is not horrible, nor does it have the tragic preaching of the cartoon "Prince of Egypt".
