The story takes place in New Mexico in the 1950s. A young switchboard operator and radio DJ discovered a strange frequency that might change their lives, their small town, and the entire planet forever. "The Promise of Night" fell into the rabbit hole of "Twilight", through dropped phones, AM radio signals, secret tape reels forgotten in the library, exchanges, crossed patch cords, and an anonymous phone. He carefully weaves a search-seeking story of missing people together. "The Promise of the Night" takes the audience into an era and a small town far away from the outside world through confusing tracking shots, quick dialogues and perfect era terminology. Its mystery is only presented to those who are curious and patient enough to listen.
