In 1910, "flying machines" were all the rage at the time. However, just because it was just born, everything is still in its infancy. The British Daily Mail editor-in-chief Lauder Rowans (Robert Morley) planned and organized a race from London to Paris. The purpose of this competition is to demonstrate the superiority of the British race. If all goes according to plan, his son-in-law Richard Mays (James Fox), unsurprisingly, will win the game. As soon as the news of the competition was released, there were enthusiastic registrations from aircraft enthusiasts from all over the world. What was supposed to be an adventurer's game, however, became a competition for the affection of Patricia Rawnsley (Sarah Miles).
