When Harry Met Sally... Screenwriting

Aphron has revised the script several times. During the creative process, every time he wrote inadvertently, Aphron would interview the employees of the production company. Some of the interviews were later interspersed in the film, but they were all performed by the actors and re-edited. Many of the lines in Ephron's script are based on the dialogue between Reiner and Christo in real life.
At the beginning, Ephron planned to name the movie "How They Me" and changed multiple titles. Rainer even launched a competition among the crew for the subject: the one who came up with the title could win a box of champagne. When Billy Christo signed to be the lead actor, the title was "Boy Meets Girl". In order to show Harry's lonely mentality when he was single after his divorce, Christo would stay in a room alone during the filming in Manhattan, rather than with other actors. In the beginning, the ending of the script was that the hero and heroine were still friends, and the romantic relationship was not further developed, because the screenwriter and director felt that this was the "real ending". In the end, the two realized that it would be more appropriate for Harry and Sally to marry the ending, although they both thought that this result was usually unrealistic.

Yes, the atmosphere of the film rendering is very warm

"The root cause of a broken marriage is not infidelity. It's just a symptom of something else."...I didn't give this empire a high score for romance, and it wasn't because it wasn't good-looking, but it always felt like something was wrong? Maybe it's too situational sketches, and a collection of male and female proverbs? Or, Christo's cynical and rational eloquence lacks emotional integration, and Meg Ryan still looks like a silly big sister but insists on her being an intellectual reporter?

When Harry Met Sally... quotes

  • Harry Burns: How long do you like to be held after sex? All night, right? See, that's your problem. Somewhere between 30 seconds and all night is your problem.

    Sally Albright: I don't have a problem.

    Harry Burns: Yes, you do.

  • Sally Albright: Well, basically it's the same dream I've been having since I was twelve.

    Harry Burns: Which is?

Sally Albright: Okay, there's this guy...

Harry Burns: What does he look like?

Sally Albright: I don't know, he's just sort of faceless.

    Harry Burns: Faceless guy, okay.

Sally Albright: He RIPS off my clothes.

    [pause]

    Harry Burns: And?

    Sally Albright: That's it.

Harry Burns: That's it? Some faceless guy rips off all your clothes, and THAT'S the sex fantasy you've been having since you were twelve?

Sally Albright: Well sometimes I vary it a little.

    Harry Burns: Which part?

    Sally Albright: What I'm wearing.
