Thirteen-year-old Ahmed was inspired by the deeds of his cousins who died for jihad, inspired by the radical imams of the community, and embarked on the path of radicalizing Islam. Ahmed followed the Koran, which had been misinterpreted by the former, and was full of rejection and hostility to all apostates, including his classmates, his sisters, and his drinking mother. The movie can end with a knock for help, or before Ahmed finally speaks, but forcefully allows him to achieve redemption. The only ambiguity is that the arm holding the "weapon" is always out of the camera, which makes people worry about whether he may attack at any time. The so-called redemption may be just a short-lived flash of humanity under the suppression of religion. Reinforcing stereotypes without a structured, social dimension, the Darney Brothers' character brief was not a successful attempt.
