Let everything fade like the wind

Master Miyazaki's work of harvesting mountains is still based on the dream of flying that he could not give up all his life. Hayao Miyazaki's animation that is not at all Miyazaki has fewer lines than any previous one, and it is "bland" than any previous one, without the colorful fantasy, without the big picture of iron and blood. Romance, everything becomes light, light separation of life and death, light national hatred and family hatred, light like a meeting in the wind in old age, drifting...

      The Wind Rises

It was a turbulent age, war, hunger, disease, natural disasters, the shadow of death shrouded the world, but could not block the light of dreams and hopes that flashed in my heart. Ordinary Japanese teenager Jiro Horikotsu (voiced by Hideaki Anno) is obsessed with planes cruising the sky. In his dream, he became friends with Italian aircraft designer Caproni (voiced by Nomura Mansai), enjoying the fun of flying. In the terrifying Great Kanto Earthquake, Erlang meets Nahoko Satomi (voiced by...

The wind is rising, we must try to live

What I saw in this film is a microcosm of the entire Japanese culture.

The reason for watching this movie is that I accidentally watched the special documentary "The Wind Rises" by Hayao Miyazaki. From the documentary, I have a general understanding of Hayao Miyazaki's mental journey, and then watching this film, I will have some special insights. Many people say that Hayao Miyazaki's films are full of supernatural elements, but this one is a subversion of that...

      What is true love?

What is true love? Idol dramas tell us that love is about giving up everything for the sake of your lover. Is this the reality? The love between Erlang and Akihoko is real, plain and romantic. When Erlang learned that Qiu Suizi had tuberculosis, Erlang did not leave her, but decided to stay by her side. This is a common bridge in idol dramas. But unlike idol dramas, Erlang did not choose to give up his aircraft manufacturing career for Qiu Suizi, but stuck to his post and did his best to...

The heart of a child soaring in the wind

Life is but a short journey, we chase and search all the way. I always feel that there is something missing in life, and because of this, we are not reconciled! And this kind of thing also varies from person to person, so we have to use the term "dream" in the world.

"The Wind Rises", as Hayao Miyazaki's final work, contains more than just the surface of the film. It tells the story of Jiro Horikoshi, the father of the Japanese Zero fighter, in his early years, and Hayao...

    Behind the scenes gags

This is the only feature film directed by Miyazaki Hayao that does not have the pseudonym "の" in the title. Of course, it is also the first film based on real characters.
The novel "風立ちぬ" is an autobiographical romance novel written by Hori Tatsuo based on his experience of recovering from illness in Karuizawa in the 1930s. The prototype is named Yano Ayako, who died of tuberculosis the following winter when he met the writer. The...

    The origin of Fengli ちぬproduction

Miyazaki Hayao published the manga "風立ちぬ" in the monthly magazine "Model Graphix" from April 2009 to January 2010. The work features Japanese fighter designer Jiro Horikoshi, who was active during World War II, as the protagonist. He once designed the A6M Zero that was once invincible in the air force field . At the same time, the title of the manga and the plot of the love story with the heroine are taken from the novel of the same...

Miyazaki Hayao owns three important roles: original work, screenwriter, and director. Kitaro Kosaka (" Spirited Away ") and Takeshige (" Howl's Moving Castle ") serve as painting director and art director. Another old partner, Joe Hisaishi, provided the soundtrack that was polished over two years. In terms of voice actors, a full non-professional lineup was launched this time. The actor Jiro Horikoshi was played by EVA director Hideaki...

    Well-known reviews

Critics and media who have watched the film in South Korea praised the film. " Chosun Ilbo " said that "風立ちぬ" has "the same calming ability as Miyazaki Hayao himself."
According to the American " Vanity Fair " magazine, from the box office point of view, "风立ちぬ" is undoubtedly the most successful Japanese movie in 2013.
Hong Kong media said that Miyazaki Hayao has always loved airplanes. But his performance of this kind of love in this...

    Insufficient audiovisual narrative

The application of color and painting style has reached a very high level, whether it is in the countryside, the city, or the majestic large aircraft, and the test flight process, it shows the atmosphere, fresh and beautiful feeling. Hisaishi Joe, who has collaborated with Miyazaki Hayao many times, uses a brisk accordion and mandolin to create the main melody. The string ensemble is gentle and long, adding a lot of points to the film.

    Social influence

Although the theme of the film is related to war, "风立ちぬ" conveys a quiet anti-war message. The date of its release coincides with a sensitive period in Japan's political environment for adopting a War Hawk stance on foreign policy . And Miyazaki Hayao himself also pointed out that Japan should apologize for past historical crimes and cannot amend the constitution at will. Such remarks aroused the anger of Japanese right-wing...
