To those old movie stars

Yesterday I watched First Blood 1, 2, 3, and 4 in one go (after all, it’s fine to watch it directly, and blockbusters generally don’t need to think too much), aside from the content, the power of time is really touching. Stallone, who was young and handsome back then, has become Now there are some old-fashioned Uncle Shi. This can not help but think of Schwarzenegger from 'The Terminator' to 'The Last Stand', from 'The Bourne 1' to 'The Bourne 5', the motor full of vicissitudes, from 'Police Story 1' to 'Twelve Jackie Chan in the zodiac (as far as the performance is desperate, I only serve Jackie Chan), from 'Shaolin Temple' to Jet Li of the 'King of Kung Fu' and so on.

The old age of a superstar represents the past of an era, represents our youth, and will never return.

Fighting in that tropical rainforest, Stallone feels more like a Predator. The prodigal son finally went home. The shooting of random guns in the film is very real.

What an emotionally complicated sequel. The shot is more brutal than the sin city, but the background is carefully prepared - not because of this movie I would not know Maung Chan, nor would I know that the Burmese military government is so anti-human

Rambo quotes

  • [from Director's Cut]

Arthur Marsh: [praying] Lord, make me your instrument of peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy. Grant that I may not seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love, for it is in giving that we receive. It is in dying that we awake to eternal life.

  • John Rambo: [alternate line from Director's Cut] You're not going anywhere. And there isn't one of us that doesn't want to be someplace else. But this is what we do, who we are. Live for nothing, or die for something. Your call.
